Travelling Around the UK
Whilst I am living in the UK I’m getting out and seeing as much as I can of this great old country. I’m keen to see more of Scotland, Wales and Ireland, and the Channel Islands.. actually I’d just like to see it all! Here’s some of the posts that feature places in the UK.
So Bloody Unromantic – Part One Travelling around the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside and seeing the Yorkshire dales. What could be more romantic than fish and chips snuggled up together in an old pub in Robin Hood Bay?
So Bloody Unromantic Part Two – The further adventures of our ‘unromantic’ trip up north, this time climbing in the Lakes District, up the majestic peak Mt Hellvelyan.
Haunted Castles – England is a land of beautiful stately homes and castles, and we’ve seen a few though no all of them. We even found one with a resident ghost.
Believe in Yourself – The perfect place for a writer to visit, Chawton, Jane Austen’s home in Hampshire is well worth a visit. You might even catch yourself a Mr Darcy.
Henley Regatta Not too far from where we are living is the gorgeous riverside town of Henley. Every year since Adam was a boy, the Royal Henry Rowing Regatta has been held, and crowds of hatted and blazered men and women have descended on the town to drink Pimms and watch the fit boys and guys put the oar in!
Dirty Stories and a Bath – One of funniest trips out was to the elegant spa town of Bath. The town is a picture of Georgian sensibility and the grandeur of the operational Roman thermal baths. This traveller’s experience of Bath will forever bring a smile. This traveller’s tale is R rated.
