A long time ago when the world was green, (2009) a little expat Mum blog called Vegemitevix was begun, in England. It became the little blog that could, despite its blogger knowing nothing about such important matters as SEO, Twitter, or even ‘how to blog’. Since that time however Vegemitevix has grown quite a lot.

And is now hand-made in New Zealand – Vicki Jeffels’ home country.

Actually, Vegemitevix has grown exponentially over the past four years and does take carefully selected advertising, sponsorship and brand partnerships.

We are very picky about which advertisers we work with and always ensure that promotional messages are aligned with ‘what matters’ to our engaged informed global audience.

The blog currently achieves  monthly pageviews of 25,000+ and has a worldwide readership of loyal readers who actively participate in discussions on the blog, on Twitter (@vegemitevix)  and on the accompanying Facebook page and who typically visit 2.7 pages per visit.

Vegemitevix attracts readers from all over the world, but the large majority of readers come from:

1. United Kingdom

2. Australia

3. United States

4. New Zealand

5. Canada

6/Europe

Yes, even now, even though the blog is written in New Zealand it still achieves top 200 Parenting Blog status. In the UK!

What Do We Blog About?

Vegemitevix is a lifestyle blog that covers an eclectic range of subjects all from the perspective of a forty something expat Kiwi Mum who moved her family across the world to set up home with a scrumptious Englishman she met in Paris. We write about most things but especially about –

  • Expat life
  • Travel
  • Parenting teenagers
  • Second-marriage (and step-parenting)
  • Good books, fine wine, music, film and theatre
  • Technology

Tone is interesting, amusing and intelligent. We don’t see ourselves as a ‘mummy blog’. Please note that my kids are now tweenies and teens and are not generally interested in baby bottles, nappies, fairy days out or prams. The only time my kids call me ‘Mummy’ now is when they’re wheedling to borrow the car.

I’m not much of a housewife either so please don’t ask me to review vacuum cleaners, dish cloths, or other housewifey stuff. I may review it, you might not like what I’ll write.

On the other hand feel free to pitch ideas for travel, holidays, cars, technology, or other things a 40-something global citizen might like. Vegemitevix holds numerous awards for travel blogging and parenting including – Top 25 Expat Mom award, Top 200 Parenting blogs in UK, and Go Abroad’s Top International Foodie award.

Bear in mind that Vegemitevix has alongside its many female fans a number of loyal male readers – typically 35+ years old who do not enjoy reading about women’s products or women’s incontinence pads.

We will charge for our time and our rates change from time to time. Current details are listed in our media pack.
