And we’re back!
What a nightmare of a technical hell it’s been. Over the past two weeks I’ve had so many people tell me on Twitter and Facebook that they can’t read my blog because of an ‘internal server error’. One person even asked (tongue in cheek I think!) whether I’d blocked her.
I hadn’t. But it looked like the technology gods had blocked me!
So yesterday turned into a perfect storm with problems on the home front, and a whopping huge migraine to finish me off. In the end I just turned the duvet over and crawled inside hoping to sleep off the storm.
Some days, there’s really nothing more that can be done.
I couldn’t fix the blog (had to call in the Tech Batman for that! Thanks @AussieNomad) and couldn’t fix the problems at home, and couldn’t fix the migraine so I just gave up fighting, and went to bed.
No doubt some people think that’s cowardly to take to your bed, but I maintain that sometimes rest is the only thing for when your body is unwell, and so too for the mind’s sniffles. It seemed to work, despite having to haul out of bed to cook the hoards spaghetti and meatballs for dinner last night.
This morning I have something of a migraine hangover and feel a little fragile but I’m so relieved to see the blog is feeling better. Most of the time it all works swimmingly, and then out of the blue it falls over. The upside is that I got some rest knowing there was nothing I could do to fix it, and the understanding that sometimes it’s best to lash the sails to the mast and head below decks and wait out the storm. It was also amazing to see all those people who I know must read this blog, make themselves known and let me know that things weren’t working. That was really heartening. Thanks!
And the best upside of all?
At least when you have a bad day it’s comforting knowing that you get a chance to do it all again properly as the sun rises the very next day, migraine hangover or not.
Thanks for bearing with us whilst the blog had the sniffles, and if you see anything that isn’t working as it should please let me know by emailing me on vix at vegemitevix dot com.
