#FriFoto Photo Gallery – Gold
Today’s #frifotos for G Adventures are all about Gold. Here are some of my golden experiences over the past couple of years.
On our trip to Porto in Portugal we came across some beautiful churches, as good if not better than those we have seen in Rome or Venice, just not as well known. This golden altar belongs to the beautiful Baroque Igreja de S. Nicolau. A church I believe needs more press!
Also in Porto is this stunning shot of the Dom Luis 11 bridge photographed gleaming as if made from pure gold.
One of our highlights of 2012 in England was the Olympic torch relay. I was surprised at how we all got into the spirit of it and loudly cheered on the runner holding the precious golden Olympic torch through the small Berkshire town of Thatcham.
Of course the theme ‘gold’ would not be complete without a sunset pic. Here are a few beauties. First the beautiful bridges of Porto, all six of ‘em in the setting sun.
Also in Porto the same sunset photographed from the terraces of the Pousada do Porto, a magnificent venue in an old Palace.
And finally, the sun setting on the Southern Alps in the South Island of my home country, New Zealand.
