Photo a day July – Busy

by Vicki Jeffels on July 2, 2012

Today’s photo is a bleary-eyed vision of what busy means to me.

This is the fuel that keeps me going – yesterday was 20 hours long! Dark Princess suggested I take a photo of the refueling process and behind it place a row of empty supped cups.

I had to demure. That would mean drinking another cup and I’m pretty sure three is enough for me (in both kids and coffee)! And, what’s more I do actually need to sleep tonight.

I have tried to cut down on my intake of coffee and alcohol, (my middle-class uppers and downers) and even tried a meditation  course. It lasted less than a week. The first time I woke early, crawled downstairs to the couch in the quiet of the dawn and encouraged my mind and body into ‘meditation mode’. It wasn’t entirely successful. I fell asleep.

The second day I tried again, purposefully opened the door so that the cool of the morning would keep me awake for meditations. It wasn’t entirely successful. Settling my mind and flighty thoughts was like trying to calm and harness a clutch of chooks.

Let’s not talk about the third, fourth, five mornings. On the sixth morning I retreated to my traditional wake-up call. Here it is – my morning cup of Java. I’m going to stick with that for now.

Glad you can drink coffee if I drink it I become even more hyped up and wouldn’t sleep for a week. Oh and about falling asleep during meditation I do TM and often use it to help me fall asleep – even if I only stay asleep a short while it certainly works to restore energy after the nap ;~D

It is very helpful that I can drink coffee. IN fact if I need to stay awake through the night – if I have a writing deadline for example – I up my coffee intake and it works a treat. I have however also learnt that if I drink more than five espresso strong coffees in as many hours, I’m literally shaking!

My goodness I don’t even want to know what would happen if I drank 5 espresso’s ;~D come to think of it my family wouldn’t want to know either ;~D

A 20 hour day here too on Sunday so you won’t get a quality comments out of me today :) But that coffee sure looks good…

Wow. Are you more tired today, or just running on adrenalin (as I am!)

Ha, ha, the cup of Java looks like the essential solution to a 20 hour day – ain’t no meditation that going to get you feeling pepped up after that ;) x

Too true. Though I did sleep last night, excessive quantities of coffee consumed not withstanding.
